Up above the vision store, deep inside the brain,

I hear someone at a long distance, playing a distant but mesmerizing flute,

Film Review - Limitless

Drugs, chicks, sexual encounters and visual hallucinations forms the core of this movie. A drug based, rock n roll movie of 2011, is special in a way, that it spreads the message of drug avoidance, showcasing the side effects of drug consumption and drug overdose. Keeping the image of Bradley Cooper in mind, the movie has all types of visual pleasures, glamorous and exotic locations and hot chicks.

One point to be mentioned specially, is that this movie is a science fiction movie, based on the novel "The Dark Fields" by Alan Glynn, which gives a thrilling experience through a series of real and hallucinating events.


Plot: The film's plot is based on the life of a writer, who has run out of money and work. His life has taken a very bad turn, and he can foresee no future upcoming. In such series of events, he comes across a drug named NZT, that enables him to access 100% of his brain, giving him superhuman abilities,

The storyline follows a reverse chronological order, in which at first, the lead character is shown to go on a suicide attempt. The story then shifts back to time, when the lead character was a struggler. He somehow comes across a drug pill, that enhances his abilities, transforming him from a local writer to financial tycoon. However, the side effects of drug lead to hallucinations, unexplainable events and also leads to new threats and danger, that follows. The storyline follows a thrilling way and keeps audience glued for more.


Music: Being a rock n roll movie, this movie certainly stands out on Music. Although not having any special song, the continuous drum beats and wordings makes the movie more thrilling and appealing.


Acting: Bradley Cooper plays his playboy best in the movie. His appeal definitely works in favour of audience. His performance as a intellectually gifted individual, who gains the power to resolve and repair everything as well as a playboy, is too damn good.

Abbie Cornish and Robert De Niro, do fair justice to their roles. But, Bradley steals the limelight.


Direction: This movie has been directed by Neil Burger. It has all the elements of a Bradley Cooper movie, with sex, drug, parties, alcohol as well as hot chicks. the thriller part of the movie has also been directed well and the visual hallucinations add value to it.

Overall, I rate the movie 7.5/10.

Film Review - 127 hours

I had quit writing film reviews long back, but suddenly, this movie forced me to come back to writing film reviews. This review might not be as good and structured as the ones, I had written previously and I feel I am not that great enough, to write an expert review about this epic biographical survival film, but still, I would prefer taking my chance.

Plot: This film is based on a specific life event of "Aron Ralston", the famous canyoneer and engineer, who had met with an accident on one of his such adventurous trips, where in he had to amputate his right fore arm, in order to survive. This film greatly depicts the series of visualizations, emotional hallucinations and thoughts that peeks in your minds during life threatening tragedies, and how it sometimes, even comes in front of your eyes, disturbing the sheer gap between imagination and reality. People tend to grab it as real, forgetting their current condition for a short span of time.


Storyline: The story line based on the real life incident of "Aron Ralston", about how he came to the accident place "Blue John Canyon" and how the accident led him loose his right hand. The film screenplay is fantastic and the emotional moments, strained family relations, that have been shown through flashbacks of the lead character are mind blowing. The entire story about the origin of the lead character as well as his family and on - off relations has been revealed through flashbacks. The story line follows an asymmetrical yet well bound pattern, that is perhaps the best pattern to be utilized for this film.


Music: Strange but true, the soundtrack of this movie is composed by A R Rahman. Aron's favourite band "Phish", has also a short song present in the film.  Although, I am not a expert in music rating, but taking chance, I would say the music in this movie is good and the song "If I rise", truly has words describing the situation of the lead character, when he is stuck in deep trouble.


Acting: James Franco in the role of 'Aron Ralston", is the best suit to the role. No one could have done it better than him. The genuineness of his expressions, when he is remembering the past, his break up, as well as when he is cutting is own hand, is brilliant.  From a  carefree lad, to a helpless man, to a matured man who understands values, to a free bird, is the transformation series of characters, shown in the movie and has been depicted by James, at a super awesome level.


Direction: Danny Boyle, has really done a great job in direction. The flashback theory as well as the depiction of visual appeals, to execute human desires, condolences and general necessities, is something, that really deserves accolades. The film has received three golden globe awards and was a worldwide hit, which I think, it deserved.


Overall, I would rate the movie 9.5/10. 

Lily - A romantic encounter

So, Suddenly one day, at a restaurant take away,
A girl caught my attention, mesmerizing, her hair coloured in grey;
She sat inside, lonely, at a far away eating table,
I couldn't hold myself on, I was not at all stable..
The delivery boy passed me my order at the top of his voice,
I had to leave immediately, I had no choice.


I parked my car and entered in side,
I was shy to approach with an indecisive stride;
I sat up on a nearby table, I kept staring through a small tree,
As if she had already guessed my intent, she herself came to me;
She sat in front and gave a naughty glee,
She asked me,"So handsome, It seems you know me?"
I was shattered deep inside, I was broken apart,
I realized she is a call girl and became nervous, it was difficult for me to start;


She tingled up on my feet, she winked her eye,
I put my head down, I as too shy;
She held my hand and started telling about rate,
I wished I could immediately leave, Yeah, that would be really great!!
She moved me forcefully towards my car,
She naughtily said." Don't worry, you will have complete pleasure yaar!"
I was silent, nervous and stressed;
She said that she would make hot my bed!!
She sat in my car, and we drove away.
Only I know, how badly I wanted to stay!!!!


On the way, I asked her name, although I felt silly,
She said with a naughty stare that her name is Lily;
It is then, I asked her when she began?
She went quiet for a moment and her face began to tan;
She said that she was brought here as a kid,
She neither remembered her parents, nor anyone else did,
She was tortured innumerable times, she almost got killed,
She had then decided to join the profession, after being forcefully stilled,
I saw tears come out of her eye,
I forwarded my hankey, but she was hesitant, suddenly she became shy,


For the first time today, I was happy, I did something correct against my will,
I wanted to rescue her, I wanted to make the moment still,
We topped and had tea, besides a roadside stall,
I suddenly began to fall for her, I began to steadily fall!!
She told me I was a nice person, I am rare to find these days,
I said I am some one who doesn't fling, who always cares and stays,
She smiled with heaven, she came close to me and whispered in my ear,
She said she would be happy to have me, she kissed away my tear,


But, I knew, this love story had no future at all,
It was to end soon, soon as we leave the stall,
She cried and cried, and held my hand, she said me to be happy,
She said that the girl who gets me, would really be very lucky;
With a tearful goodbye, I watched her run away, I watched her depart and go,
Within seconds, lily was gone, leaving me with only my shadow;
I cried very heavily, I wished to stop the moment,
I decided to stop commenting on them, as I had run out of any comment,
With a heavy heart, I held the precious memories firm,
The girl indeed had a very beautiful charm!!!
I said her goodbye, I cried, I closed my eyes,
I sat into my car, I drove away, I drove away miles and miles!!!!

The girl with a yellow cap

The wind blew above me,
gusting across the long standing tree,
The leaves flew from here to there,
Moving up and down, along with the air;
A flying dupatta came hitting up on my face,
I saw something moving towards me, at a slow pace;
It is then that I saw at a long gap,
There stood she, The girl with a yellow cap.


She was too beautiful, standing will all her charm,
As if she had chanted magic up on me, I went forward meaning no harm;
She stood still, caressing her hair,
I couldn't stop myself, I continued to stare!!
She looked like an angel, down on earth,
I stared at her face,I stared at her girth;
She came to free me from sufferings, from pain,
I thought,I would gain her, I thought,I would gain!!


She came to me and asked for her dupatta back;
I realized it was with me and put it in her sack,
Her eyes were blue with a look, so surprising,
She looked so innocent, so mesmerizing;
I stood there still over the dusty ground,
I couldn't utter a word, I was spell bound,
A little time later, I heard someone shout out loud,
She instantly replied and started running towards the other side crowd,


I stood there still, I saw her sack,
Before I could say anything, she turned back;
She gave me a beautiful smile,
She then started running, she was so agile,
She ran fast towards the other side crowd,
Rain started pouring, thundering was loud,
She quickly vanished, while I was completely wet,
I picked up her sack, and went towards the main gate,
She was gone, I realised after a long time gap,
There she was gone, The girl with a yellow cap.

One Day

It was one day, a bright Sunday, right at 12 noon,
I saw a beautiful girl standing aside, with the face of moon,
The shopping mall was glittering with faces unknown,
But the girl caught my attention, as if she was someone, very much known;
The gusting winds blew across the Pizza stall,
It made me fall for her...It made me fall.!!



With a yellow top and a blue jeans,
She stood there still, by all means;
She looked so beautiful, under the dark night sky,
I couldn't approach her, I was too shy!!
She waited a while, before her phone rang loud,
She was really noticeable, even amongst a heavy crowd..
Finally, she moved ahead and departed across the gate,
I stood there still, I cursed my fate!!



And so, she was gone, While I stood still,
I was very slow, to react to my will..
She didn't even notice, how I longed for her,
May be we would meet again or may be never ever!!
I slammed myself, I moved ahead,
I was too sad, even tears couldn't be shed!!!
Finally, I decided to give it a break,
I didn't take chances, But, I guess I could take;
I forgot the matter in moments of time,
It's not as if I had done some crime;
And then again, it was one day, a bright Sunday, right at 2 PM noon,
I saw a beautiful girl standing aside, with the face of moon,...

Life

Life in reality, is what you live,
you strive to conquer with a strong grip,
Don't worry... In the end, everything will be alright;
You need to slow down and hold to it tight,
When you are determined to make it large,
Success has to kiss your feet and barge;
Believe in faith, believe in you;
Make the world kneel down and see it as you do!!!
