No More

You no more belong to me...
When I open my eyes in the morning,
You are the one, I always wish I could see;
But, life has changed now unexpectedly,
With memories to remember and glee,
I wish I could hold you forever,
But, you no more belong to me.

I walk alone in darkness,
remembering, how you were always with me,
Strange, how time quickly passed by,
Destroying all the golden moments, I wished to see;
I wanted to grow old with you,
I wanted to feel you besides me;
I wish I could hold you forever,
But, you no more belong to me.

I would always pray for your well being,
I always have been,
I walked away far ... far from you,
Miles away, never again to be seen;
Be happy wherever you are,
I would always be there for you,
Don't worry, I will be ok,
I promise and I will make it true,
I wanted to cherish every moment,
every moment,I spend with you,
I wanted to kiss your tears away,
I really wanted to,

I wish I could complete you,
Even to the extent of changing me,
I wish I could make it
forever and ever to glee,
I wanted to grow old with you,
I wanted to feel you besides me;
I wish I could hold you forever,
But, you no more belong to me....

Happy Deathday!!!

"When life ends , that may be regarded as the beginning of a new life , a new journey and a new route to travel "- The words coming out from the radio , are lingering across the walls of the room . However , they don't seem to affect Shubimal. He is busy in his own thoughts.

"How can it be possible? How can a man walk faster than me , while I was running?"- He asks himself , but finds no answer . He slowly gets up , and walks towards the bathroom.

Shubimal Basu , born and brought up in Kolkata , currently lives in Gariahat . His family comprises of just three members - His father , mother and sister. Sixteen years ago, they had shifted from Mominpur to this place. The cause of their shifting although , is still unknown to Shubimal. He gets no answer , every time he asks his father.

Even a few days ago , during breakfast , at about 9 A.M in the morning , Shubimal and his sister were drinking soup and his father was reading the newspaper , when suddenly , his mother entered the hall. She was looking scared , with sweat dripping, from all over her face.

" Today is the 25th of April. Just 7 days are left , for Babu to turn into 20. Aren't you worried?"- She asked his father.

"Growing up definitely denotes something good , mom. Besides , parents should be happy for their children , at least , during the time of their birthdays. Why are you so freaked out?"- Shubimal asked.

"Just shut up and finish your soup. You are already late for the class."- Mr .Basu shouted and then , turning towards his wife , said in a low tone - " Please be patient , dear. You need to control yourself now. This is not the time , to break down. We will discuss about this topic later , in details."

Shubimal was really surprised by his father's response at that time. But , he had preferred to keep quiet.

Although, he never found any clue, but still Shubimal somehow feels, that the fear and anxiety his family continuously faces regarding him, has some relations with the mysterious reason, for which they had left Mominpur , when he was of a very small age.

He had also heard his mother & father saying words like "Curse" , "Devil" , "Death", many times, but could neither make head nor tail, out of it.

Today is the 28th of April. Shubimal had gone out for a morning walk at about 6:45 A.M. During that time, the busy roads of Kolkata generally stay silent, with maximum five to six vehicles, covering them.

As he was running across the road, he saw a tall figure walking before him. The person was excessively tall and gave a sense of somewhat strangeness. Shubimal felt the urge to overtake him. He started running more fast and swiftly. But alas! the man was still ahead.

Shubimal speeded up more and more for the alternative tries, but the end result was just the same. He was somehow not being able to overtake the person. He became tired and exhausted, and started panting. The person was just one or two hands ahead of him. But the same distance seemed to be unbeatable during running.

He took a quick glance at his watch. It was 7:30 A.M. He had spent a long time chasing the tall person, without noticing the time, and so, he must hurry up to home now, or else he would get late for his English tuition. So, he decided to leave the man and run towards his home.

The whole incident flashbacks itself in the mind of Shubimal, as he is taking a bath. However, he washes the incident away, comes out of the bathroom and gets ready for his tuition.

One day passes away. The event is still fresh in the mind of Shubimal. He cannot make out any reason for the event , that occurred that day. However, he decides to forget that, and focus on his love life- Shreya. It's his birthday month after all, and there is a probability that if he proposes to her on his birthday, may be, she will accept him. Positive signals , is what he has got from her, always, and that's why he is planning for the proposal.

Today is the first day, of his birthday month. Tomorrow is his birthday. Shubimal is very happy today, as well as excited for the next day. He wakes up at 6:30 A.M. Today, he has no tuition to attend. He sits up on his bed, puts on his glasses and comes out of the room, into the balcony. The flat in which his family lives, is on the third floor, and so a clear view of the road running down, beneath the apartment, is possible every time, from the balcony.

He looks around the road, here and there. A few tea vendors are opening their stalls. The vegetable sellers are walking across the road, with their vegetable vans, shouting loudly. Suddenly, his eyes get focused on a tall person, standing in front of his home apartment. The person seems to stand still, staring up at someone, most probably him. Many people are walking and running across the road, going by the person, sometimes even going closely by him, but no one is noticing him.

A big car comes running across the road. The driver drives the car through the person, but still the person remains there only , standing on. This scene increases the heart rate of Shubimal. Almost fainting, he runs towards his room, brings his binocular, and looks at the person. Seeing the person, he becomes unconscious and loses his sense.

The person has no face, only a pair of lips, and he writes in air- "Happy Death Day, 2/5/2013" and then vanishes away.

Shubimal wakes up, to a sudden chilling touch of water. He finds his mother, father and sister, standing around him, staring at him, in anxiety. He removes the water from his face, and asks-"What happened?"

His mother replies-"That is what we should ask you. You were lying unconscious on the balcony. What happened there?"

Shubimal remembers about the supernatural incident he saw today, a few hours ago and starts shivering. His father taps his shoulder and asks-"Tell me Babu, what happened? What made you unconscious? "
In short, Shubimal tells them the incident that he saw, today in the morning, when he woke up.He notices that after hearing it, much contradictory to his expectations, his parent's faces turn pale, and they too start shivering with fear.

Shubimal understands that his parents know something and are hiding it from him, and so he says-" Mom, dad, I feel you guys know something, and are hiding it from me. So, please tell me...What is it? What do you guys know, that I don't?"

Shubimal's father then starts dictating the story, the story that would change Shubimal's life forever:
"The incident occurred 17 years ago, when you were almost 3 years old. At that time, we lived in Mominpur. The day on which the incident occurred, I was coming back from hospital, with your mom. The reports of Mimi's birth , were found to be positive, and the doctor had advised your mom, to be admitted, within the next  3 days. We were on a taxi, heading towards home, when a drunk boy was crossing the road. In spite of many horns by the taxi driver, the drunkard could not control himself, and was hit by the car, in the middle of the road, and in a moment's time, he lay on the road, in a pool of blood. Seeing that, we were really shocked and frightened. At that point of time, the easiest possible solution, we found, was to run away.
Later, we came to know that , the boy, was the only son, of his deformed faced and crippled father , who had a very fearful reputation in his locality. His father was known to be a famous black magic practitioner, possessing somewhat supernatural powers, and also known, to have hurt many people, using his powers.
He came to visit us or rather curse us, the next day. Although, we pleaded thousand times before him, and your mom even knelt down, for mercy, he did not listen to any of our pleadings and cursed us, that any member of our family, who is a boy and who reaches 20 years of age, will instantly die, on his birthday.
He did not listen to any of our cries, and walked away limping, showering us with his wave of cruelty. His face was so deformed, that I could not make out any distinction between the parts of his face. The only part visible, was a pair of broad lips. The sight to his face, was terrorizing.
After a few months passed by, we forgot about that incident, and slowly retreated back to our normal lives. But suddenly, one day, we came to know, about the death of my brother's son, early in the morning. The day he died, was his birthday, and he was to turn up into 20 years of age. Hearing about the incident, I dropped my phone. Old, painful memories were suddenly refreshed.
From that day on wards , we used to stay in fear, that what might happen to you, when you grow up. But one day, we heard of the news of his sudden death, due to an accident. We were relieved, and decided to leave that place. It is then, that we came here. But we were still fearful, that someday he might turn up again, from the dead, and seek for revenge. Today, it seems our thoughts have resulted in to reality."- Shubimal's father ended his words, with tears in his eyes. His mother and sister also started weeping.

The whole story makes Shubimal, resemble it, to an Urban Legend. But, here it is reality." So,Urban Legends do come true." - He said to himself.

Later, at night, everyone sits silently for dinner. When you can predict death in advance, life becomes less important and you always long to meet the end. The same thing happens with Shubimal. He skips dinner, and silently creeps into his bed. Although, it's difficult to sleep, but still he pretends to do so, even when, there is no one, watching him. His mother and father too, can't stop themselves as well as each other, from crying. An environment of sadness prevails in the house. Shubimal silently waits for death to embrace him.

The next day, Shubimal wakes up or rather gets out of bed, with utmost grief. Today is his birthday, as well as the last day of his life. He will no longer be able to see the world, from tomorrow. He silently meets his parents, and touches their feet. They bless him, with teary eyes. The whole day passes away in sorrow and grief. Slowly the day changes into night, and darkness comes, spreading it's wings all over the place.

The time, at present, is 11:50 P.M. But, Shubimal is still alive. He and his parents and sister, are both anxious and happy, because if somehow 10 minutes, pass by, Shubimal will live happily ever after, and the curse over the family, will get removed.

Finally , the clock chord strikes 12, and to everyone's utter happiness, Shubimal stays alive. His parents rejoice the moment, hug him, and the environment of sadness, instantly changes in to happiness. Shubimal is very happy to be alive. He enthusiastically, eats his dinner, along with a reciprocating feeling ,from his parents and sister. Then happily, he jumps on to the bed, and dozes off to sleep. His parents and sister also, have sound sleep.

The next day, Shubimal wakes up to the alarm of his cell phone. He quickly brushes his teeth, takes a bath, freshens up, and comes out of his house, to start his bike for tuition.

As he rides the bike, his eyes go immediately upon the left front mirror.......The faceless man is standing right at his back......

Love happens...Just happens.

15th February,2013:
Shilajit just woke up from a dreaded sleep. He has not been well for the last few days. Post break up effects after all. It's not so easy to get out of it.

Taking a deep yawn, he says to himself,"Life has been so much fucked up, right now. Last night, when the whole world was busy, drinking, roaming and burning cigarettes, with a hot chick sitting by side, I was fucking lagging in my room, with a bottle of Royal stag. Fuck that shit."

He gets up from his bed, and lits up a cigarette. After inhaling and exhaling the smoke, he takes out his cell phone. He begins taking a quick glance at the contacts, but comes to a halt at one. The name displays "Sarmili".

He dials the number, and instantly cuts it. He then gets up from his bed, and merges towards the bathroom. The flat he lives in, is located at the center of South Kolkata, just opposite to the South City Mall. Its a completely furnished 1 BHK flat, with a narrow balcony, from where one of the busiest roads of Kolkata , Prince Anwar Shah Road, can be seen with a huge, suffocating crowd, along with a heap of cars and buses, constantly running from the two ends.

Shilajit is taking a shower, when some memories suddenly come out as Flashbacks.
A girl kisses him on the forehead, and whispers into his ears,"Believe me, you will survive.Nobody is this world lives for anybody. Not a single person does care.We need to move on in our lives, and concentrate on our careers, Chiru. We will always remain friends, come whatever may. Good bye.Take good care of yourself."

Chiru !! Chiru !! Chiru ...... The name continues to linger through the bathroom walls.

26th February,2013:
Noise pollution has completely covered the city of joy. Every now and then, one can see taxis and private cars polluting the environment with smoke, dust and rushing away noising heavily, as if police is chasing them.
Shilajit is in a taxi, going from Ballygunge to Alipore. Kolkata traffic and the horrible road conditions has already made him 1 hour late for the meeting. Its 11 'o' clock in the morning, although the weather makes it to be predicted as 2 'o' clock, noon.

Shilajit takes out his phone, pauses at the same contact "Sarmili". He dials the number and instantly cuts the call. " Nooo.........no more ..... no more shall I care for her."-Shilajit says to himself, and puts the phone back into his pocket.

The taxi driver asks-" Sir, will it be ok if I drop you here?"

Shilajit looks out of  the window pane. Alipore Main crossing has arrived."Yeah, ok"- he said to the driver, and gets out of the car, paying the money required.

"The Hub is still far away. Why did I leave the taxi so early?"- He says to himself after a little time, and realizes his mistake, committed out of loose focus.

He decides to take the first left turn, and walk the distance, with the fact in mind that he is already 1 hour late. But still, he decides to walk on.

Suddenly, his phone rings. The screen displays the  name " Ritu". He smiles, and receives the call.

Shilajit - "Hey Pagli .Whats up? On a date at present?"

He continues the conversation, with a smile on his face, marching ahead towards the restaurant. The conversation continues for about 30 minutes, after which Shilajit observes, that "The Hub" has finally arrived.

"Phew...and so I finally arrive. Good bye baby.Call you later."- He cuts the call, and enters the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, a bearded man is waiting for him. Shilajit sees the man, sitting at the left corner table, drinking coffee, and goes towards him.

"Hello, Mr.Singh. Sorry to keep you waiting."-Shilajit said in a low but friendly voice.
"Oh, so u have realized that? Fine..That's enough for me, hopefully."- Mr.Singh replied.
Shilajit - "Sorry once again, sir. The busy roads of Kolkata, you know. They can never be found free of traffic jam. Although, I would like to take the entire blame on myself."
Mr.Singh - "Better for you. Now if your excuse is over, can you please sit down, so that we can talk about the matter?"
Shilajit - "Yes sir, surely. Sorry for the delay." His ears turn red out of shame.

Shilajit sits down and orders a cup of Chocolate Cappuccino. Mr.Singh initiates the conversation again -
"So, tell me, is the work done? The project which I gave you, is pretty easy. I am not being able to understand, why you are taking so much time?"
Shilajit - "Sir, 90% of the work is done. It is just that I am not being able to find the proper contacts list, which is to be uploaded, and hence is the delay. So, I called Rajeev sir this morning only, and he suggested me to directly contact with you, to clear the doubts."
Mr.Singh - "Look beta, I think the problem, you are stating, seems not to be the major problem, which you are facing right now, and which has turned your world, upside down. So, if you are hiding something, let me know of the problem and solve it, coz  a dedicated employee of us is somehow out of focus right now, and we need to solve this issue."

Tears start rolling down from Shilajit's eyes. He tries a lot to hide it, but fails. He turns his face to the other direction. Mr.Singh quietly rises up from his chair, comes to his side, gently places a hand on his shoulder, and then asks "So, break up right?"

Shilajit, still in tears, replies,"Umm...ahhh...umm...No sir, nothing like that. It's just that I am a little bit stressed out, right now."
Mr.Singh - "You won't be able to lie to me, Mr.Chowdhury. I have been knowing you for the last 8 years, and as a supervisor, I have never been taking control of the duties, of any other person, other than you. So, tell me, who is she? How did it all end?"

And then the story moves back, 6 months ago:

13th August,2012:
Shilajit is in his room, accessing his Facebook profile. It is really impeccable to see how internet has changed a million lives. It has spread itself across all cultures , countries and boundaries, and has made it possible for long distant people to get connected to each other.

Shilajit starts visiting profiles of some unknown girls, whom he finds, in some of his friend's friend list. "They just go on with any girl, they find. How ridiculous!!"- He says.

Suddenly, he pauses at a profile. The name shows "Sarmili Bose". The profile picture is of a girl, very much fair in complexion, like an angel on earth, wearing a black saree .
"Woo Hoo..This girl looks nice. Looks like someone fresh from the womb, endorsing all the beauty of the green earth, seas and the beautiful nature. Besides, she is in Mayukh's friend list. How about sending a friend request??" - Shilajit tells himself.

He pauses initially, and then sends the request. The girl accepts the request , finally , after a long query about his identity. Then slowly but steadily , they become friends.

As days pass by, they start discussing serious matters about their lives , with each other and from friends, they slowly turn into close friends. Then one day, Shilajit asks her out for a date and she immediately accepts.

Then what follows is a cycle of love, anger, quarrels, romance , kisses, love making and love again. Shilajit becomes  very happy with his life, and prays to god that life always remains as sweeter, as it is now.

But what we expect is not always the same as what life offers. The same thing happens with Shilajit.

11th February,2013:
Time is not going well for Shilajit. His love life is on exit mode. His professional life too, seems to be deeply affected. For the past few weeks, he has been constantly fighting with his girlfriend for no reason.
"There is something we need to talk about. These are not mere differences of opinion. Something is wrong between us." - He says this to himself  always, but still the fight goes on.

It's 10:00 in the morning. Shilajit is lying on his bed, lost completely in thoughts. He is thinking deeply about the current state of  his love life and the torment he is suffering , for the same.

Suddenly, his phone rings. The screen displays - "Sarmili" calling....
He smiles. For the past few weeks, it has been only him calling the other person, and not vice versa .
Shilajit picks up the call , and says "Hello Puchu ."
Sarmili - "Chiru, this is just not working. I mean, what the fudge are we doing? Just fighting and fighting? Whenever, we try to resolve our issues, we end up in more fights. This won't work this way. We need to meet. Today, Cafe Plaza, 5:30."
Shilajit - " Yeah , ok. But, what...."
His words remain incomplete, as she cuts the call.

Time is about 5:15 in the evening. Shilajit has reached the venue early , and is roaming about the place here and there, feeling tensed. Sarmili is yet to arrive. He decides to sit in a table and order a cup of coffee.
After a short interval of time , coffee arrives. He takes a quick glance at his watch. The time is "5:25"...
"She should have come by now. Must be on her way..."- He says to himself, and sips the coffee.
More cups follow. Shilajit slowly starts loosing his self, and continuously glances at his watch , at repeated intervals of time.

Finally, Sarmili arrives at 5:45. She says "Hi!" and sits down on the opposite chair.
Few minutes of silence follows..
Finally Shilajit speaks,"So, Wassup? Why did you call me? Any serious problem?"
After a long silence , Sarmili finally speaks," It isn't working between us Chiru. How much I try to reconnect myself , I just cannot. Where is that love, where is that care, where are that feelings , we used to share even months ago? I think we need to take a break."

Imaginative glasses exploded all over the place. Shilajit felt his heart go numb.
"But why?"- That's all he could say, although he had intended for more.

His eyes start releasing tears. He tries to say something , but fails to. Sarmili rises up, comes near him, kisses him on forehead and says ,"Believe me, you will survive.Nobody is this world lives for anybody. Not a single person does care.We need to move on in our lives, and concentrate on our careers, Chiru. We will always remain friends, come whatever may. Good bye.Take good care of yourself."

She hugs him tight, and then removing tears from her's as well as his eyes, she slowly departs. Shilajit intends to stop her , but something from inside stops him from doing so.

The story then comes back to the current scene:

Shilajit is still under depression with tears spread all over his face. Mr.Singh consoles him , provides him with a tissue napkin and says,"Beta, life does not always run on a smooth track. Sometimes small pebbles on a railway track, can even lead to derailment. You will first have to understand that there is a very small line of difference between infatuation and love, but that small line is very much crucial. You must love only those, who really love you, care for you and understand you."

Shilajit's phone rings up. The screen displays "Ritu" calling...

He says "One minute , sir" and then picks up the call , with a smile on his face. After the conversation is over, it is clearly visible that he is no longer sad , but has suddenly become happy , which is an out of the box situation , that has come to arise , right now.

Mr.Singh was quietly noticing his actions for a long time. After Shilajit , finally comes to normal , he says -
" So, are you presently running on a new track?"

Shilajit , somewhat surprisingly replies-"No sir , she is just a friend of mine or else you may say , she is my best friend. In fact , I feel we are inseparable from each other , and incomplete without each other."

Mr.Singh gives a soft smile, and says-" Son , remember what I said you , a little while ago? You can never depict in the first chance itself , who is perfect for you. It takes years to predict so. Even then , you realize that you have been mistaking the whole time. Just , think about it once. You have your whole life time left. So, just think about it. Don't be to conclusive in the beginning , or else you will have to repent your mistake through out your life."

Shilajit smiles , and says-" Yes sir , of course , I will think about it."

After the final discussion , the meeting gets over in another 1 hour. Mr.Singh bids good bye and leaves in his car.

Shilajit hires a taxi from the nearest street corner.

The taxi driver asks-"Where to , sir?"
Shilajit replies-"South City mall." , and lit a cigarette. Smoke flows through the air , covering his face , making it partly invisible to look at.
He is lost in deep thoughts. Thousands of thoughts come and go away in fractions. In one second , he remembers Sarmili parting with him , in another Mr.Singh's say , and finally he remembers Ritu , who seems to have a solution for his every problem , who was always there besides him in every decision he has ever made.

He calls Ritu instantly.

Ritu is lying on her bed , browsing the Facebook profile of Shilajit , and smiling to herself. Suddenly , her phone rings. The screen displays "Paglu Calling...."

She smiles , receives the call and says-"Hey Paglu!!So, finally u came to think about me, huh? By the way , where are you right now? Busy in meeting still? Listen , forget about Sarmili , for a little while , right now....."
Shilajit -"I love you!!"

Two minutes of silence follows. Ritu then speaks -" Idiot , Stupid , Scoundrel , Asshole, I love you too yaar." She starts crying.

Shilajit smiles with tears in his eyes, and cuts the call. He has to go to meet Ritu now. Finally , he has been able to understand the true essence of love.

Film review of "Krrish 3"

Superhero movies were not being considered as a genuine subject for film making, even a few years ago. For a long instance of time i.e. from the mid nineties to about 10 years from that point of time, foreign superheroes like Batman, Spiderman, Superman had ruled the box-office charts as well as the cash registers in India. But slowly hence forth, the bollywood film makers and producers realized that this tradition needed a change. This change in their mindset gradually paved the milestone, for making a way towards the rise of the glamorous Indian superheroes like krrish and Ra-one.

Although, a large number of superhero movies like Toofan, Ajooba, Mr.India etc,had been made in the sixties and seventies, it was the TV series "Shaktimaan", which first introduced the concept of an Indian Superhero with extraordinary powers, in a grand scale. But Mr. Rakesh Roshan gets the special credit for introducing a glamorous superhero in the form of "Krrish", and that too through a costly bollywood movie i.e. in a much broader way.

The saga started with the movie "Koi Mil Gaya", an Indian adaptation of the famous 1982 science fiction movie "E.T-The Extra Terrestrial", directed by Steven Spielberg, which was released in 2003. It spawned two sequels namely "Krrish" and "Krrish 3". While the former movie deals with the origin and rise of "Krrish", the latter deals with the agenda of "krrish" and his never ending battle against the evil forces.

The movie released worldwide on 1st November,2013 and was declared "Blockbuster" in India in the first week itself, by Box-Office India.

Starting with the review:

Title: The movie takes the Krrish saga forward by demonstrating the agenda of our Indian Superhero "Krrish" and how he continuously battles against all evil forces to save the city from ruins and destruction and finally saves the day. However, there was a controversy about the title of the movie being "Krrish 2" or "Krrish 3" , as the previous installment was named "Krrish". But the controversy was cleared when the lead actor Hrithik Roshan confirmed in an interview to Rediff.com that the naming was done based on the "Rambo" franchise.

Trailer: The trailer of "Krrish 3" was released on You tube channel on 5th August,2013 and was immensely well received by the audience. It received more than 2.3 million views at You Tube within it's first day of release, surpassing the previous record held by "Jab Tak Hai Jaan". The trailer became the most watched Bollywood trailer on You Tube with 12 million views within two weeks, eclipsing the trailers of Hollywood block busters like "The Avengers" and "Thor". The trailer introduced Kangna Ranaut as a mutant with special powers, along with some other mutants too, which made the movie more interesting and attractive to watch.
However, according to my personal view, the trailer gave a hint of the clumsy, convoluted story line that the movie would show up. Besides that, the visual effects seemed more virtual than being real. So, overall, the trailer was moderately good.

Poster: The first look of "Krrish 3" was released on July,2013 and received positive enthusiastic response from the audience.

The main theatrical poster of the movie, released a few days prior to the release of the trailer, showed the main character in lead i.e. Krrish, surrounded by evil mutants and gave an impression of him saving the world, that will form the crux of the story.

The poster was successful in attracting masses to the movie theatres.

Marketing and Promotion: The release of the first look in July,2013, and the trailer and poster back to back in August,2013, was a very efficient promotional marketing strategy adopted by the authorized bodies. The teaser trailer was very positively received by the audience, and the press remarked positively to it, by concluding that the movie trailer echoed the feelings of Hollywood Block-Buster superhero movies like Batman, Superman etc.
For further promotion, a new video game of "Krrish" was launched, bearing all the characters of Krrish 3. Hand bands and watches bearing Krrish symbol were introduced and free samples were distributed among a few lucky kids. Besides that, a new website of Krrish 3 was also launched to provide relevant information.
The link to the website is: http://www.krrish-3.com/
The marketing strategy adopted by them was splendidly able to fulfill it's purpose.

Story Line: The story begins with Krrish (Hrithik), now an established superhero, saving the city during troubles. His father Rohit (Hrithik), a famous scientist, works in a well established laboratory. The other half of Krrish i.e. Krishna, is married to Priya Mehra (Priyanka) and they live happily. However, trouble arrives, when an evil genius named Kaal (Vivek) with special telekinetic powers, decides to release the virus of a deadly disease in India, to elaborate his business, as he only knows how to make the antidote, using his own blood. Kaal is a handicapped mutant, who searches for the bone marrow to cure him, and has created a team of mutants named as "Maanvars" i.e. hybrids of human and animals.
However,Rohit observes that the disease virus has no effect on him, krishna or the pregnant Priya, and then makes the antidote using Krishna's bloodstream. This angers Kaal, who sends out his mutants to find the truth. Thus begins a police and thief game between Krrish and Kaal's mutants. Krrish defeats Frogman, one of  Kaal's Mutants and saves Rohit from being taken away. But Priya is injured in the process and is taken to a hospital. In the hospital, Kaya (Kangna), another of Kaal's mutants, who can change forms, replaces Priya,by taking her form, and the original kidnapped Priya is taken as a hostage in to Kaal's laboratory.
Slowly, Kaya develops feelings for Krishna, and finally helps Krrish, to reach for the rescue of his father and wife. In a vicious battle, Krrish defeats all of Kaal's henchmen and finally defeats Kaal after a long tussle, thus proving that Good always triumphs over Evil.
The story line, according to me, is very much convoluted, clumsy and can be said to be a spoiled broth prepared by five or more writers, that cannot taste well enough.

Acting: Hrithik Roshan, in the dual role of the superhero Krrish and his child like father, Rohit, carries out his task well. However, during his acting for the character Rohit, he shows some typical mannerisms, which has come trend wise from "Koi...Mil Gaya". But,apart from that, his performance is notably praiseworthy.
Priyanka Chopra, in the role of Priya, the dedicated, loving, fashion seeking wife of Krishna/Krrish, does not have too much screen space to share and neither has an opportunity to portray much of her acting skills.
Kangna Ranaut, in the role of Kaya, a mutant, does her role well. At scenes, where she needed to show emotions, she has been partially successful.
Vivek Oberoi, in the role of "Kaal", has done a disastrous performance. Throughout the movie, his role was to sit on a moving wheel chair, and use his powers to control the surroundings. Although, he was given ample chances in this movie, to prove himself, he failed to do so.
Other supporting casts were partially up to the mark.

Music: The music composed by Rajesh Roshan, may be regarded as his worst performance. The songs are too long, too slow, and too rubbish to listen to. Every track seems to be boring and irritating, to a large extent and so why the audience response towards the music has also been very negative. Overall, the music gets a rating of 3/10 from me.

Duration: Apart from music, the pace and duration of the movie is also a negative factor that decreases the movie value. The film could be made shorter, narrower and up to the point, preventing the clumsy story line that resulted due to involvement of a large number of writers and script writers. The duration of the movie is too long, and the pace, although initially starts well, begins to loosen up as time travels. Thus, the duration and pace of the movie should also have been considered for improvement.

Overall, the movie gets a rating of 6.5/10.

Film review of "The Lunchbox"

Some unknown and undefined connections always exist among a few people in this extraordinary world. Only the media of communication keeps on changing as days pass by. Earlier it used to be pen friends, followed by social networking sites like Facebook, and Social messaging applications like Whats app that have taken the place. Yet people who don't know each other, may be connected just via a simple media of communication.
Written and directed by Ritesh Batra, this movie depicts a simple romantic budding love story of two people who don't know each other, but are linked through a series of letters.

Using the idea of Pen - friendship, the director has been able to implement the idea of love and romance flourishing among two unknowns, with the heavy stress and hustle of Mumbai life in back ground, very aesthetically.

The film was screened at International Critics' Week at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and later won the Critics Week Viewers Choice Award also. It was shown at the 2103 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was released in India, U.S., and U.K. on 20th September, 2013 and did well at the box office. It has received over whelming positive reviews and responses from critics world wide.

Now,I would like to start with the film review of the movie:

Title: The main plot of the movie throws light on an undefined budding relationship that slowly emerges among two unknowns, who have never met each other. In a slow but steady manner, the movie shows how people living in fast paced cities like Mumbai, have to undergo violent stress in order to accomplish their work, but still find time to enjoy the beauty of love and essence of life. The connection between the two lead characters in this movie, is established using a series of letters kept inside a misplaced lunchbox from time to time. Hence, the title "Lunchbox" is accurately justified.

Poster: The main theatrical release poster shows the three lead characters of the movie, pursuing on their journey of life, entangling each other, along with a hint of love and affection prevalent among one or more of them.

Though the poster does not clearly imply about the main theme of the movie, but it is sufficient enough to attract sensible audience to the movie theatres. Thus, the poster in delivering it's purpose, is a success.

Story Line: The story line is based on a very unique idea of  a strong romantic bonding, slowly budding up between two unknown people developed through a series of letters, initiated by a misplaced lunchbox, and this forms the crux of the story. The story starts with a little throw of light on the Mumbai daily life and it's fast pace, and meanwhile the main characters are introduced slowly in a regular manner. The pattern of the so called dabba(Container/Lunchbox) service in Mumbai, delivered by the local dabbawalas(Delivery Boys) is then shown to the audience in a satirical way. The delivery boy commits a mistake by wrongly delivering the food container of a housewife, which was to be received by her husband, to an about to retire office employee, whom she doesn't even know. This mistake continues for many days, after which the house wife comes to know about it, and then tries to make contact with the unknown stranger(employee),by writing a letter to him and embedding it in the lunchbox, in order to get a feedback about the food that she cooks everyday for her husband, from him.The story line then takes a convoluted turn when it is revealed gradually that the housewife is unhappy with her life, and so is the employee with his life, due to him being a lonely widower.Gradually they begin to share their inner feelings with each other, and as time passes by, they fall in love. However, the story ends with a question mark, leaving it on the mental orientation and aspection of the audience to assume the ending.

Acting: Irrfan Khan, one of the most reputed powerhouse performers of Bollywood, has kept his reputation intact as per the defined standards, through his acting skills portrayed in this movie. Apart from some typical mannerisms common in his every movie, he has been able to bring out the character of a lonely widower seeking for love,as well as a budding lover, with great and clear confidence. He has been able to make the audience feel as if some real life incident is going on, and his character lively, through his acting.
Nimrat Kaur, in the role of an unhappy house wife, who longs for her husband's love, takes suggestions from her flatmate upstairs in order to charm her husband, and finally falls for a complete stranger, does justice to her role. In scenes, where she needed to show her emotional expressions with ease, she is mildly successful.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as the irritating sub-employee as well as the caring friend, brings out his character lively again, thus maintaining his standards.
Other minor characters are also well portrayed by the respective actors. The cast selection gets a rating of 9/10 from me.

Music: The film does not have a large number of tracks. It is based on a hypothetical situation that may arise in real life,in a course of time, and so needs less or no songs to avoid making the script clumsy. One particular track of a song being sung by a tribal group in a Local train deserves special mention, not for lyrics but for it's originality and equivalence to real life.

Pace: The pace of the movie is too slow. The opening and closing of the lunchbox is shown too many times unnecessarily, thus making the audience feel bored. The movie could be made a little faster or better shorter by editing and removing a few irrelevant scenes.

Overall, the movie gets a rating of 7.5/10 from me.

The incredible Bruce Lee:A tribute to the legendary martial artist.

Martial Arts, the traditional system of Combat practice is widely spread across the world in various places and forms.Believed to have originated in ancient China, about 4000 years ago, during the Xia Dynasty,it has slowly and steadily spread it's wings to various parts of the world, including Europe and Asia.Derived from a Latin word,it generally means "Arts of Mars",where Mars is the Roman god of war.
Various forms of martial arts originating from various places, have slowly become the subject of interest of many people, spread across the globe, both for practicing and research purpose. The dominance of martial arts is also seen in the films and media industry, specially the Hong-Kong and Hollywood movie industries.
If we follow the recent trend, various martial artists and martial arts practitioners, have joined the film industry and are successful in establishing themselves as actors also.Scott Adkins,Jean Claudde Van Damme,Donnie Yen,Wesley Snipes,Yuen Biao,Sammo Hung,Cung Le,Don "The Dragon" Wilson,Mark Dacascos,Dolph Lungdren,Michael Jai White,Jason Statham and Matt Mullins are certain names from this never ending list.Jackie Chan, the famous actor, martial artist and stuntman who originated from Hong-Kong film industry, and made a timely crossover to Hollywood,is at present the highest earning actor in the world.
Female martial arts actresses like Moon Lee,Cynthia Rothrock,Cynthia Khan,Anna Ranoso,Lucy Liu and Tanit Phoenix have also proved their versatility in acting.
In Bollywood also, actors like Akshay Kumar,John Abraham,Hrithik Roshan,Vidyut Jamwal,Sushant Singh Rajput,Pooja Gupta,Neetu Chandra and Isha Koppikar are trained martial artists.

However,in this article,I would not like focus on the aspects of collaboration between Movies and Martial Arts, but would like to throw some light on the man,who was the first to collaborate them. The famous martial artist, who was the first to act in as well as direct movies of martial arts genre, and who was solely responsible for this innovative collaboration is none other than the legendary Bruce Lee.

Born on 27th November,1940,Bruce Lee,was a Chinese American martial Artist,Hong-Kong action film actor, martial arts instructor, philosopher and an occasional film maker. He is the founder of "Jeet Kune Do",a rigorous and hybrid form of martial arts, widely accepted throughout the world. He is widely considered by critics, media and other commentators to be the most influential martial artist of all time as well as a pop culture icon of the 20th Century. Some of his famous movies like Fist Of Fury(1972),Way Of The Dragon (1972),Enter The Dragon(1973) and The Game Of Death(1978) have a classical cult following. He had always portrayed Chinese Nationalism in his films.

Lee's father,Lee Hoi-Chuen was one of the leading film actors of that time. So,Lee grew up in a privileged environment. But in spite of that,Lee was involved in several street fights, which prompted his parents to get him trained in martial arts.Although, the initial beginning was slow, the largest influence that came on his learning of martial arts was the study of Wing-Chun Kung Fu,by the legendary teacher Yip Man.Slowly but steadily,Bruce lee, became very skilled in the art of Wing-Chun. However,he became involved in more and more street fights, which forced his parents to send him to San Francisco,U.S.A.

In March,1961,Lee had enrolled himself in the University Of Washington, where he met his future wife Linda Emery, and they married in 1964.

In 1967,after filming one season of "The Green Hornet",Lee found himself out of work, and opened the Jun Fan Institute Of Gung Fu. After a controversial match with Wong Jack Man,Bruce changed his philosophy on martial arts and founded "Jeet Kune Do",in order to improve his style of fighting and make it more fast and effective.

The details of the fight can be seen in book, entitled as "Showdown in Oakland".The following link may be helpful:

Although, the above fight is regarded as the most important fight in lee's life,Bruce lee had also been involved in a large number of other fights. He had defeated three times Hong-Kong inter school boxing champion via Knockout. In one of his fights,he had broken the arm of his opponent,as a result of which police had to be called. He had also defeated a judo expert,in just 11 seconds, with 15 punches and 1 kick.

The acting career of Lee,started with his role as "Kato",in the TV Series "The Green Hornet",alongside actor Van Williams.

He had also been the fight choreographer for many following films and had played small roles in others. However, not pleased with his roles in United States,he moved back to Hong-Kong,where he got his first break as the lead role in the movie "The Big Boss(1971)".The film was a major box-office success. Then following the success, more successful movies followed, establishing him as one of the most prominent lead actors of Hong-Kong.One of the most famous movie of lee was "Enter The Dragon",which was a major box-office success, breaking all previous records set by him.His last unfinished film was "Game Of Death".

On 26th July,1973,6 days before release of "Enter the Dragon",Bruce Lee died. The death of Bruce Lee is mysterious, and has been termed as "Death By Misadventure".Many theories were later speculated about his death, including a curse on his family,or a murder involving Triads,a Chinese underground crime society.Black Belt magazine concluded his death to be as a result of "The Touch Of Death",which he had received several weeks before his death.

Bruce Lee had always been a fitness enthusiastic and believed in regular practices to attain perfection. The following pictures demonstrate his fitness:

He was also a reputed philosopher. Some of his famous quotations are:

1)If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of.

2)Mistakes are always forgivable,if one has the courage to admit them.

3)Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.

4)A quick temper will make a fool of you, soon enough.

5)As you think,so shall you become.

Refer to the following link for more:

Various facts about Bruce lee,are also predominant in various places of the world. The following link may be helpful:

After the death of Bruce Lee,there evolved a large gap in Hong-Kong film industry,a gap that can never be fulfilled, not even today.Bruce lee was and is the legendary martial artist, who will always be remembered for his valuable contribution to cinema as well as martial arts.He is "Immortal".

Film review of Aurangzeb.

Stories on gangsters and their ruthless crimes, have been a recently adopted trend for film making in Bollywood. However, the concept of identical twins, separated at birth due to some tragedy, and their difference in behaviour arising out of the different circumstances faced by them, followed by their interchanging due to the story line, that results in comical or thrilling situations and confusions,is a not so common plot used by film makers today. This type of plot predominantly used in 80's and 90's,have become extinct today.

Writer and Director,Atul Sabharwal, has mixed the above two plotting concepts of Indian Cinema in an unequal and somewhat unbalanced blend, into this movie "Aurangzeb",backing them with a large and powerfully assembled cast comprising of Arjun Kapoor,Prithviraj Sukumaran,Rishi Kapoor,Sashaa Agha and Swara Bhaskar in lead roles, along with Deepti Naval,Jackie Shroff,Amrita Singh,Anupam Kher and Sikander Kher in supporting roles.

Released on 17th May,2013,Aurangzeb is a Bollywood action thriller film, which executes the ideology of "Good triumphs over evil".The theatrical trailer was released on 3rd April,2013 and was highly received by the audience. But unlikely, the film could not manage to do the same at cash registers and was a decent, above average hit.Lack of realistic concept, too predictable story line, and a large number of previously predictable straight cut twists could not make the film a worthwhile watch.Although, the first half is decent enough, the film loosens very quickly towards the second half, and the end could easily be guessed.

Now,beginning with the review:

Title - The film has a somewhat little uncanny resemblance to the life and policies of the ruthless Mughal Emperor,Aurangzeb and hence the title "Aurangzeb" has been used in a justified manner. However, here I would like to focus on the title of the movie, stating the fact that the title of this movie is interesting enough to grab the audience's attention, without revealing even a bit of the story line that the movie follows.Hence, the title selected by the director is successfully exhibited.

Trailer - The theatrical trailer of the movie, released on 3rd April, showered introduction on the lead characters of the movie, along with a hint of the possible story line that the movie may follow. The trailer introduced a story line involving a family of cops and a family of criminals, and focused on the conflicts between them.In order to bring the criminals down, the cops capture a member from their team, and send his look alike to take his place. However, things don't go as smooth as expected and tables are turned upon one of the families. The main tag line of the trailer was "Kingship knows no kinship".
The trailer was very well received by audience, and crossed 1million views on Youtube in just three days.

Story Line - The story line of the movie,as mentioned at many places above,is quite predictable and the twists that come are also the same.It starts with a family of corrupted police cops or rather collectors (Rishi Kapoor,Prithviraj and Sikander) in Gurgaon, who in order to bring down a real estate Developer, Yashvardhan (Jackie Shroff),capture his son Ajay(Arjun Kapoor),and send his long lost twin brother Vishal (Arjun kapoor again) to take his place and inform the police about Yashvardhan's whereabouts. The main purpose behind this was to restore the lost glory of an honest and dutiful police officer(Anupam Kher), brother of DCP Ravikant(Rishi Kapoor),and father of ACP Arya(Prithviraj),who had protected Yashvardhan's wife and one son, after faking an encounter of them. But,the greedy DCP Ravikant had something else in mind. However, tables are turned when Vishal decides to be with his father, and stops helping the police. Then what follows is a series of traits, deceptions and double crossing, finally letting good triumph over evil.

Acting - Arjun Kapoor,in the double role of Ajay and Vishal, carries out his task well.In both the roles,as the ruthless hooligan and spoilt brat Ajay,as well as his timid counterpart Vishal,he stands firmly. However, his typical mannerism leads to no difference between them in some scenes, especially his typical laughing scene. He needs certain more polish in expressing his emotions.
Rishi Kapoor, after the role of "Rauf Lala" in Agneeepath, does an excellent job again as the main antagonist. The veteran actor has once again proved that in acting,he is not less than any body. The character of the greedy, witty and clever DCP Ravikant has been accurately executed by him.He will be remembered for some heavy one liners, delivered by him at ease.
Prithviraj Sukumaran,Jackie Shroff and Swara Bhaskar, have also done justice to their roles.
Sashaa Agha, the Pakistani singer and actress, daughter of singer Salma Agha, has not much scope of acting in this movie.Roaming around in skin tight minis, coming out of pools in bikinis, and making love to Arjun Kapoor,is what she has to offer in this movie. She has been able to generate the oomph factor required in the movie, and has executed her as a sex kitten.Probably, this is the purpose for which she had been offered a role in the film and so,in a way,she has done justice to her role.
Anupam Kher, has a very little role in the movie, too little for any kind of determination. Sikander Kher,in the role of ACP Dev,an ally of DCP Ravikant, still needs to learn acting and even delivering dialogues. His acting is the most disastrous performance in the movie.
The rest of the cast is just okay.

Music - The music is composed and directed by Vipin Mishra and Amartya Rahut. The music of the movie could not stand up to it's mark and is not at all positively received by the audience.Only the song "Barbadiyaan",sung by Sashaa Agha and Ram Sampath ,seems to be a little popular, that too mainly because of the ample exposure of Sashaa Agha. However,I personally like the song "Jigra Fakira",sung by Keerthi Sagathia. The music scores 6/10.

Pace - The pace of the movie is slow, which adds to it's predictability.Slow pace along with a predictable plot is the main reason that makes the movie uninteresting to watch, specially towards the end.

Go watch it for Rishi Kapoor's stupendous performance,or if you are a die hard Arjun Kapoor or Prithviraj Sukumaran fan.
If you intend to go for the skin show, rather visit Youtube than visiting theatres.
This movie can be given a miss.

Overall,I rate the movie 5/10.
